MEET THE TEAM: HOLLY

April 12, 2021

MEET THE TEAM: HOLLY

We'd love to introduce you to Holly, our new part-timer in the WT store.

As well as working with us, Holly is studying spatial design at Massey University. We love Holly's creative flare and her infectious smile.

We asked Holly a few questions so you could get to know her better, check them out!

What do you do at Wilson Trollope?

I'm with our customers in-store on Sundays (the best day of the week!). I love meeting our Sunday shoppers!

What’s one Wilson Trollope piece that always makes you feel amazing?

Currently I'm loving wearing the Frances dress which I have in black. I find it's perfect for every occasion!

Who is your fashion icon?

I think I'd have to go for a classic: Audrey Hepburn.

What's something that always makes you feel inspired and empowered?

The wonderful women in my life.

What's a recent favourite book you read/podcast you listened to/movie or tv show you watched and why?

Women Don't Owe You Pretty is a book I recently read and fell in love with! The author/illustrator Florence Given is so inspirational in the ways she empowers women and promotes self love.

Best advice you've ever received?

Appreciate the little things in life.

Lastly, what's your favourite thing about working at Wilson Trollope?

I love being a part of the WT team and am grateful to get to see Annabelle's amazing journey as a designer! Plus working in such a beautiful in-store environment.

Welcome to the team, Holly! We're so excited to have you.

Holly wears the Frances Dress in black. Check it out here.

You now actually have that extra hour or two of sunlight after work you were hoping for during winter and a newfound energy as nature emerges from hibernation around you. Try to catch some tulips in bloom or simply notice as the trees start to turn green with new growth.

Winter Musings from our Muse, Carolyn Taylor

August 10, 2023

Winter gets a bad rap sometimes. It maybe gets more of our bad moods, a bit of impatience about the fact it lacks the amount of warmth and sun we love, it can be hard on our mental health… I choose to look at winter as a time to pause, warm myself up from the inside out, enjoy the dark, enjoy the cool, the clearness of the stars in the night sky, the chance to wrap up nice and snug and let my clothes give me a cuddle, knowing that warmer months are just around the corner and with that…the Spring/Summer range we can get our hands on hahaha!

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR BODY

There are three body measurement points that you need to know to ensure a great fit – bust, waist, and hips.

When taking your body measurements, wear the undergarments you normally wear for the most accurate results. Use a flexible tape measure, or a piece of string and ruler, and hold it around each body point so it is comfortably snug.  If the tape is cutting into your flesh, it is too tight.

To ensure an accurate measurement around your body, keep the measuring tape as level as possible from front to back. We recommend measuring yourself in front of a mirror so you can check this from a side view. If you can, get a friend to help you to ensure the most accurate measurements.

Bust: Wrap the measuring tape around your back and where the tape meets across the fullest point of your bust is your bust measurement.

Waist: Wrap the measuring tape around your natural waist, the slimmest part of your torso, pulling the ends to the front. Where they meet is your waist measurement.

Hips: Wrap the measuring tape around the widest part of your bottom – this is usually low down towards your thighs. As with your bust and waist measurements, where the tape meets is your hip measurement.

Length: To measure the length of individual garments against your body it is best to measure down the centre of your back. To do this, start the measuring tape at either the base of your neck for dresses and tops, or at your waist for skirts. Measure down your body to the measurement listed in the garment description. This will show you where the garment comes to on you. When you are measuring for length, remember to make sure you are standing completely upright – it is best to have someone help you with this. Alternatively, compare the measurement with the length of a garment you already have.
